Christmas seasons come and go so quickly, it can be hard to keep track of all the memories you make each year. Capturing these moments in a picture is one of the best ways to look back on the good times you had with family and friends. All you need is the right setting.
Luminaria has hundreds of thousands of bulbs, lighting up even the darkest nights — making it a great location to get Instagram-worthy pictures. With 27 themed areas, including Christmas Cabin, Reindeer Woods, Candy Cane Lane and more, you'll have plenty of photo ops for your next selfie, greeting card or Chatbooks page.
Here are some of the prime locations to snap a picture with your date, some friends or the whole family.
The Grand Allee Light Show
Your first sight of Luminaria is filled with The Grand Allee, where 8,000 programmable luminaries blanket a sweeping hill. Each one acts as a pixel in a moving picture, so you'll catch images of reindeer, ombré waves, stars, trees and other signs of the season. You won't believe your eyes — unless, of course, you have a photo to prove it.
The Tree-Topped Summit
Lit with 164,000 bulbs, the Tree-Topped Summit is the focal point of your Luminaria experience. This larger-than-life light tree reaches 132 feet at its highest point and sits on a 40-foot hill. Also, it stretches out 58-feet in diameter! (You might have to set your camera in panorama mode to capture the whole thing.)
Visiting live reindeer
It's not often that you get the chance to take a picture with Santa's reindeer, but Luminaria invites you to make this childhood dream come true. Seeing these magnificent animals is a perfect way to get into the holiday spirit as you capture photos of the kids interacting with Comet.
Fire pits and s'mores
Walking around the Ashton Gardens in the cold winter nights can get a bit chilly. But Luminaria has included glowing fire pits and delicious s'mores as another opportunity for some deliciously cute photos. Reserve a fire pit for a group of up to eight people and enjoy a cozy holiday treat surrounded by the spectacular glow of holiday lights.
The Light of the World Sculpture Garden
The Light of the World Sculpture Garden at Luminaria highlights 14 scenes from the life of Jesus Christ in the New Testament and Book of Mormon. During the Luminaria event, it will be softly lit with over 600 lanterns and accompanied by music. Whether you make this a spot for quiet remembrance or a family photo, it's a moment you'll cherish as you reflect on the true meaning of the season.
Your own VIP igloo
Rentable igloos are new this year and are perfect for Instagram. You can enjoy a warm break from the lights in a private, heated igloo! Luminaria Igloos seat a maximum of eight guests.
