A 2019 study performed by Lending Tree found that 61% of parents dread the holidays for one reason: spending too much money. For many families, holiday spending is just a stressor. For many other families, it's a debilitating problem.

PonyEx, a local on-demand delivery service, wants to help three Utah families in need by providing Christmas gifts for the entire family. They need your help to choose which families should be nominated for the gifts!

How to get involved

If you know of a family who's fallen on hard times and could use some extra help this holiday season, simply fill out the form below! PonyEx will choose three deserving families to receive Christmas gifts.

Once the three families are chosen, they will submit their Christmas lists to PonyEx. From December 14-18, PonyEx will launch its Ponyex Christmas Penny Pickup program. After volunteers purchase an item from the list, one of the PonyEx on-demand drivers will stop by your home for one penny—just one cent—and pick up your donated items.

On December 22nd, Santa Claus and The Grinch @GrinchVideos—PonyEx and Aligned Media Productions representatives—will hand-deliver the gifts to each of the families. Additionally, on December 22nd, PonyEx invites the Utah community to come together to a live meet and greet with The Grinch and Santa Claus. A PonyEx information booth will be available to answer questions for those interested in signing up as a driver for this growing Utah company. Location and details to be announced in a future KSL article.

About PonyEx

With a business model similar to Uber or Doordash, you get on the PonyEx app and request a delivery. You'll get to decide what kind of transportation your item will need—will it fit in a car, truck, or trailer best?

You can also choose your delivery time frame. If you're not in a rush, you could choose same-day delivery or even schedule it up to 7 days in advance. If you've got something you need to get to your house quickly, choose expedited delivery (it should be picked up in under two hours!).

Once the driver accepts your request, you'll be able to track them to your location. Then load the item up in their car or truck and make sure it's secure for transport. The driver will then meet you at your destination where you'll unload your item. You will also be able to request driver help loading and unloading if you don't wish to do it all yourself.

With the exception of people, items of exceptional value or hazardous materials, you can have anything delivered. Here are just a few examples of ways you could use PonyEx to deliver for you:

  • Dropping donations off at a thrift store
  • Picking up a kitchen table you bought from KSL Classifieds
  • Store pick ups that you just don't have time or capacity to get
  • Specialty orders from bakeries, butcher shops, weekly meal services, caterers
  • Estate sale finds
  • Prescription medications
  • Unexpected delivery needs for your small business
  • Landscaping gravel, dirt, trees or bushes from your local nursery

Small businesses can also contact PonyEx to set up a corporate account which can include bulk delivery discounts and partnership programs.

PonyEx is actively recruiting new drivers, especially those who own trucks and trailers, and has waived the background check fee through December 31, 2021.

To schedule a delivery or start driving today, visit the PonyEx website or download their app.
