London (dpa) - Harry Potter-author JK Rowling has revealed that airport security staff in New York nearly stopped her from boarding a flight home to Britain because she would not part with the manuscript of the keenly-awaited final Potter book.
The 41-year-old bestselling author said on her website Thursday that she would have considered sailing all the way back to Britain if security officers hadn't relented and allowed her to carry the bulky item on to the flight.
She would never have allowed her top-secret notes for book number seven in her check-in baggage. There have been restrictions placed on the size of carry-on baggage.
"The heightened security restrictions on the airlines made the journey back from New York interesting, as I refused to be parted from the manuscript of book seven," Rowling reported.
"A large part of it is handwritten and there was no copy of anything I had done while in the US."
Rowling revealed that she has yet to choose a title for the long-awaited conclusion to the boy wizard's adventures.
"I was quite happy with one of them until the other one struck me while I was taking a shower in New York," she wrote.
