An informed citizenry is what makes an effective democracy work.

That's why we call your attention today to the Utah Priorities Project - an extremely informative series of research briefs issued in recent months by Utah Foundation, a highly respected local independent think tank.

A few months ago, the Foundation identified the ten highest priority issues facing Utahns. Then they studied each issue in depth before reporting their findings. What they've provided is a wealth of information on such issues as health system reform, water conditions in Utah, immigration, teacher quality, crime, transportation, housing, taxation, wages and education spending.

All are issues that concern every Utahn in one way or another. And most are issues that are being discussed in the lead up to the November 4 election.

KSL encourages the citizenry to become more genuinely informed about the most vital issues facing the Utah electorate. In our view, one of the best ways to do that is to take advantage of Utah Foundation's Utah Priorities Project.
