The Democrats are dismissing it as simply words he read from a teleprompter. In his statement, Trump didn't specify which comments he was referring to.

(AP) — As wildfires continue to plague Californians and threaten their homes, authorities say they're concerned about a growing and potentially dangerous trend of ignoring evacuation orders. Many homeowners are staying put, then calling 911 for help. Officials point out that once mandatory evacuations are issued, emergency services might be unable to respond.
RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — Usain Bolt completed an unprecedented third consecutive sweep of the 100- and 200-meter sprints, an accomplishment that further elevated his status as the most decorated male sprinter in Olympic history. He won the 200-meter race Thursday. On the other side of the coin is swimmer Ryan Lochte (LAHK'-tee) and three of his teammates over an ever-shifting claim that he and his teammates were robbed in a taxi at gunpoint. Police now say the story was made up.
WASHINGTON (AP) — Admission that $400 million owed Iran under the nuclear deal was used to leverage the release of a group of American prisoners is expected to generate a firestorm of Republican criticism of the Obama administration. Thursday's explanation was the first time the U.S. had so clearly linked the two events, which critics have painted as a hostage-ransom arrangement.
SALEM, Ore. (AP) — There's more evidence pot cultivation is slipping into the agricultural mainstream. Nine living marijuana plants will be displayed at the Oregon State Fair in a first of its kind event for the United States starting next Friday. The Oregon Cannabis Business Council says it's the first time live cannabis will be shown at a U.S. state fair. Security will be tight and visitors have to be over 21. Recreational marijuana is booming in Oregon.
