BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise police are investigating after a body was recovered from the Boise River. The Idaho Statesman reports a citizen who saw the body on the south side of the river called police Tuesday evening. Boise Police Department spokeswoman Haley Williams says the body was that of an adult but no other information was available Tuesday night.
LOWMAN, Idaho (AP) — A state highway reopened Tuesday morning after being closed by a wildfire for more than two weeks, and the evacuation level for a small town in mountainous central Idaho has been lowered. Officials opened State Highway 21 south of Lowman to Idaho City after Idaho Transportation Department workers cleared hazard trees along some 25 miles of the road.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Adams County officials say there will not be a community meeting about the November shooting death of a rancher. The Idaho Statesman reports that Sheriff Ryan Zollman had said both at a community meeting in the fall and more recently on July 29 that he planned to hold a public forum about the death of Jack Yantis. Prosecutors declined to charge the deputies involved.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A federal judge has ordered the U.S. Department of Energy to make available to the court documents sought by former Idaho Gov. Cecil Andrus involving nuclear waste shipments to eastern Idaho. U.S. District Court Judge B. Lynn Winmill on Monday ordered the agency to produce the documents within a week so Winmill can determine whether to make them public.
