Trump: Campaign 'united' ... President to discuss Islamic State ... Deadly knife attack in London

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Republican Donald Trump is dismissing suggestions that frustration among GOP officials is hurting his campaign, even as he openly contemplates the possibility of losing on Election Day. Campaigning in battleground Florida, Trump said it would be "embarrassing" to lose to — quote — "crooked Hillary Clinton." But he also insisted that — quote — "We've never been this united."

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama will visit the Pentagon, where he will meet with military and national security advisers to assess what's working and what's not in the fight against the Islamic State group. A news conference will follow. The session comes as the U.S. military ramps up its engagement in Libya, which has been mired in chaos following the ouster of strongman Moammar Gadhafi in 2011.

LONDON (AP) — Police in London have beefed up security after a woman died and five others were injured in a knife attack. A 19-year-old suspect is in custody. A police official says early indications suggest that "mental health" was a factor, but that terrorism is also being considered. Authorities had warned the public to be vigilant in light of attacks inspired by Islamic State in other parts of Europe.

DETROIT (AP) — A survey finds that two-thirds of young African-Americans and 4 in 10 Hispanics say they or someone they know has experienced violence or harassment at the hands of the police. The GenForward poll found about 2 in 10 in each group say that was a personal experience, including about 3 in 10 black men. But the poll also finds that young people still desire a police presence in their communities.

RIO DE JANEIRO (AP) — American goalkeeper Hope Solo says she wasn't bothered by crowd chants of "Zika, Zika" directed at her as the U.S. women's soccer team defeated New Zealand 2-0 at the Rio Olympics. Solo had upset some Brazilians by tweeting a picture of herself wearing a hat with mosquito netting. She'd also posted a photo of dozens of packs of mosquito repellent that she was packing for her trip to Brazil.
