CLEVELAND (AP) — Donald Trump says the United States under his leadership might not come to the defense of some NATO members threatened by Russia. Trump tells The New York Times it would depend on whether those NATO countries "have fulfilled their obligations to us." Trump also says the U.S. doesn't have the right "to lecture" Turkey for cracking down on political opponents and restricting civil liberties, not when, he says, in the U.S. "people are shooting policemen in cold blood."

ANKARA, Turkey (AP) — Turkish state media say 32 more judges and two military officers are being detained by authorities in a crackdown on alleged conspirators of last week's failed coup. The detentions reported by Anadolu news agency come hours after President Recep Erdogan (REH'-jehp UR'-doh-wahn) declared a three-month state of emergency that's expected to expand the crackdown. Already, nearly 10,000 people have been arrested and nearly 60,000 civil service employees fired.

YEREVAN, Armenia (AP) — More than 50 people have been injured in clashes near a police station in Armenia's capital, Yerevan. That's where armed men have been holding hostages for four days and protesters erected barricades on a nearby avenue. Police moved in last night to clear out the protest camp. The health ministry says 51 people have been hospitalized, including 28 police. The police station was seized Sunday by gunmen demanding the release of an opposition figure arrested in June.

MIAMI (AP) — Florida health officials are testing mosquitoes in the Miami-Dade County area to confirm whether a woman with the virus could be the first person infected directly by a mosquito bite in the continental United States. Florida's Department of Health and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention say the case has no apparent connection to travel outside the country.
