BOISE, Idaho (AP) — State officials in a report released Friday say the exact cause or person responsible for a northern Idaho wildfire that destroyed nine homes remains undetermined. Much of the 20-page report by the Idaho Department of Lands on the 2015 Cape Horn Fire near Bayview focuses on two women campers on a small beach on the shore of Lake Pend Oreille near where the fire started.
NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Researchers in Southwestern Idaho are developing a robotic platform they believe could help specialty crop growers manage their crops and reduce labor costs. The platform, which researchers are dubbing "IdaBot," will be a low-cost way of helping farmers control input costs through the use of robotic automation, said Northwest Nazarene University engineering professor Joshua Griffin.
KETCHUM, Idaho (AP) — Officials are once again working to restore fish habitat in the Yankee Fork basin near the central Idaho city of Stanley. The Mountain Express reports that the restoration is part of a multi-million-dollar series of projects slated for seven years that will repair damage done by years of dredge mining.
MINIDOKA, Idaho (AP) — Nine railway cars carrying corn derailed in the south-central Idaho town of Minidoka. Authorities say no one was injured when eight of the Union Pacific freight cars tipped over Thursday while one remained upright.
