MADRID (AP) — President Barack Obama has concluded his bilateral meeting in Madrid with King Felipe VI of Spain. In remarks that preceded the meeting, Obama praised the relationship between the two countries. And he expressed his regret that he has to cut short his visit because of what's been going on in the U.S.

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — A prominent Black Lives Matter activist was one of several people arrested during a protest in Louisiana last night. Hundreds of people took to the streets to voice anger over the fatal shooting of a black man by two white police officers. In St. Paul, Minnesota, police used smoke bombs to clear demonstrators blocking Interstate 94.

MORAINE, Ohio (AP) — A 3-year-old boy who was found unresponsive in a hot car outside his grandparents' home has died at an Ohio hospital. The boy was reported missing Wednesday evening in Moraine, just south of Dayton. After a brief search, a relative found the child in an inoperable vehicle with the windows up. It's not clear how long he was there.

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — The Islamic Jihad militant group says on its website that one of its tunnels in Gaza has collapsed, killing a militant who was inside. Palestinian fighters store weapons underground and have used tunnels to carry out attacks inside Israel. Since the beginning of this year, 14 members of Hamas have been killed in tunnel collapses.

JUBA, South Sudan (AP) — Officials say renewed gunfights have broken out across South Sudan's capital between forces loyal to the president and those of the vice president. The latest violence is raising fears that the country is returning to civil war.
