DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — There's been a deadly bombing outside of one of Islam's holiest sites. According to Saudi Arabia's Interior Ministry, the blast killed four security officers and wounded five others. It happened in Medina outside the mosque where the Prophet Muhammad is buried. Thousands were gathered at evening prayers. A lone attacker is said to have set off the bomb after he raised suspicions.

BAGHDAD (AP) — Iraq's prime minister has ordered new security measures, including abandoning the use of bomb-detection wands that U.S. experts pronounced worthless years ago. The changes come as the death toll from the weekend truck bombing in Baghdad climbed to 157. Also Monday, five convicted terrorists were executed in Baghdad.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump is blaming biased news reporting for attention to an anti-Hillary Clinton tweet that appeared to depict the Star of David atop a pile of cash. The head of Jewish outreach for the Clinton campaign says the image, used previously on a white supremacist message board, was "blatantly anti-Semitic" and had been used previously. The Trump campaign says the image was a "basic star, often used by sheriffs."

VATICAN CITY (AP) — Prosecutors have asked a Vatican tribunal to absolve one journalist and give a suspended, one-year sentence to another for publishing books based on confidential Vatican documents exposing greed, mismanagement and corruption in the highest echelons of the Catholic Church. Defense attorneys are to give closing statements Tuesday with a final ruling due Wednesday.

NEW YORK (AP) — Police in New York have dispatched 5,000 officers to provide security for the Macy's Fourth of July fireworks display. That's the largest detail the New York Police Department has ever assigned on July Fourth. Authorities say there are no known, credible threats against New York but vowed to remain vigilant as more than 1 million spectators gather to view fireworks over the East River.
