The terms "taxes" and "IRS" are probably two of the most dreaded words in the English language. Every time April rolls around, millions of Americans find themselves scrambling to gather their financial information in order to make the April 15 deadline.

Paying taxes may not be fun but it's necessary. And having someone else prepare your taxes can make things much less stressful. That's what Lynn Jones, who owns Salt Lake City-based Summit Financial Services, strives to do. He specializes in tax preparation and planning for both individuals and small businesses.

Lynn received an accounting degree from the University of Utah but decided not to pursue public accounting because he didn't enjoy auditing. He started into tax planning and preparation in 1992 and founded Summit Financial Services two years later.

Summit Financial Services offers extensive tax plans for individuals and tax structuring for small businesses. Once a solid tax structure has been created, Lynn says it's easier for businesses to learn how to use their finances wisely and make good investments. Working with small businesses is something else Lynn specializes in, from helping the business get incorporated to setting up an accounting system.

In addition to tax services, Summit Financial Services also has a payroll preparation division to not only prepare payroll but also to provide quarterly reporting services. This is a relatively new part of the business Lynn would like to grow in the next few years. Many small businesses don't have the funds to hire a Human Resources officer, and Summit's payroll division can help ensure the company is in compliance with all laws and regulations.

Lynn says Summit Financial Services is distinguished by its personalized service and commitment to each client. By taking care of a client's finances, he hopes to make it possible for them to focus on the daily aspects of running their business.
