This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.
John Ruskin, an author, poet and artist, once admonished people to cultivate health instead of treating disease. It's great advice because without your health, it's difficult to enjoy anything.
Marge Carter is in the business of building health through her company, Dixie Nutrition. As a registered nurse, Marge recognized the value of promoting health and has worked hard to provide great products, sound advice, abundant choices and pleasant surroundings for her customers. Dixie Nutrition has four outlets in Southern Utah, including the beautiful St. George store where I visited with Marge.
Marge's son, Greg Gillespie, is heavily involved in the business along with her daughter and son-in-law, Sam and Jill Johnson, who operate Sunshine Nutrition in Cedar City. Jill explained how it's possible to generate a healthy lifestyle and enjoy a full and happy life.
Of course I wondered just who Marge's customers are, and she laughed as she said, "Everyone should be." She told me her clientele includes those who are lactose intolerant, people with gluten allergies, vegetarians and people who want organic food free of pesticides and chemicals. Dixie Nutrition customers are those who care what they look like and how they feel. The shop carries informational books and material and has an in-house computer clients can use to access helpful Web sites.
We walked by the big frozen food displays with all kinds of healthful items, including a large organic produce section. When possible, Dixie Nutrition supports locally-produced products. Olive oil and honey are "on tap" so you can buy any quantity. I thought it was interesting to discover that you can grind your own peanut and almond butter. You can also buy spices and herbs in any quantity and know they are fresh and pungent. Of course the store also has a large selection of vitamins, supplements and other health aids.
Marge and her family love providing Dixie Nutrition customers with great products, service, a welcoming atmosphere and most importantly, better health and happiness.
For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
