LYNCHBURG, Virginia (AP) — Some of the GOP presidential candidates are talking religion as they head into the conservative-dominated Iowa caucuses. Florida Sen. Marco Rubio told a gathering in Iowa that he will keep "talking about God." And Donald Trump, speaking at Virginia's Liberty University, drew some laughter when he referred to the Bible book Second Corinthians as "Two Corinthians." Trump vowed to protect Christianity.

LONDON (AP) — British lawmakers have spent three hours debating whether Donald Trump should be banned from the country. Parliament was required to take up the ban after half a million people signed a petition calling for his exclusion over his call for banning Muslims from entering the U.S. Trump was harshly criticized. One lawmaker called Trump a "fool" but said he refused to silence the GOP presidential candidate.

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — The St. Paul, Minnesota, Police Department has reportedly put an officer on leave while it investigates allegations that he made a post on Facebook urging drivers to run over people protesting against the police killings of two black men in the Twin Cities last year. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reports that the post told people how to avoid being charged with a crime if they struck someone during today's Martin Luther King Day march and rally.

CINCINNATI (AP) — The University of Cincinnati has reached a $5.3 million settlement with a man fatally shot by a campus police officer who pulled him over for lacking a front license plate. The children of Samuel DuBose will receive free undergraduate tuition. The school will formally apologize and provide a memorial. The officer was charged with murder for the July shooting.

NEW YORK (AP) — He's credited with some of the most popular rock hits of the 1970's. Eagles co-founder Glenn Frey (fry) has died. The band said Frey had fought multiple ailments including pneumonia and died today in New York. An Eagles greatest-hits collection from the mid-1970s and "Hotel California," released in 1976, both have sold more than 20 million copies. Frey was 67.
