NORTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — The North Salt Lake City Council has postponed consideration of a funding agreement that would pay for partial remediation after a devastating 2014 landslide. The Deseret News reports the city manager said the issue was tabled so it could be discussed in a closed meeting because of negotiation delays. The city's remediation plan is estimated to cost $2 million.

HURRICANE, Utah (AP) — Police say they've arrested the driver involved in the apparent hit-and-run in Hurricane who knew the pedestrian who died. Hurricane Police said they arrested Randahl Hill yesterday in connection with the crash earlier involving Hill's 1994 Mustang. Detectives are investigating how the man ended up on Hill's hood.

OGDEN, Utah (AP) — It's a first for Utah: the state is now home to a man considered one of the world's best taxidermists. The Standard-Examiner reports that Harrisville man David Ferguson brought home two "Best in World" titles from the World Taxidermy Competition in Missouri early this month. Ferguson says he began dreaming of becoming a taxidermist as a 12-year-old boy who loved hunting and animals.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The number of skiers and snowboarders hitting the slopes in Utah dropped this, following a national trend year due to a lack of snow. In Utah, the annual snowfall was less than half of average. Ski Utah says this season's totals were just shy of the 10-year low of 3.8 million day visits in 2011-2012.
