BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Republican Congressman Raul Labrador involved himself in the fallout of failed Idaho legislation that would have brought the state into compliance with federal child support rules and an international treaty. Labrador says he doesn't have a position on the issue, but he told The Associated Press that he reviewed an April 12 editorial sent out by a key lawmaker after the vote. State Rep. Lynn Luker of Boise says Labrador offered suggestions and edits to the editorial that defended the decision to kill the bill.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — A man accused of stabbing a 25-year-old woman to death in 2004 has pleaded not guilty. KIFI-TV in Idaho Falls reports that Brad Compher is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Nori Jones. The trial begins next April.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho doctor ordered to quit practicing medicine last June is facing 34 new federal charges that he gave patients pain medication without a valid medical reason. The Idaho Statesman reports that prosecutors charged Michael Minas of Eagle last week with providing two patients the often-abused drug oxycodone between 2012 and 2014.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Former Idaho Department of Administration Director Teresa Luna is still working at the state agency at the same salary, even though the governor announced her resignation in March. The Spokesman-Review reports that Luna is now employed as a "program specialist" and is earning $95,000 — which is more than her replacement interim director.
