WASHINGTON (AP) — Hillary Rodham Clinton is hitting the road as she starts her 2016 presidential campaign. She left Sunday on a road trip from her home in Chappaqua (CHAP'-uh-kwah), New York, in a van headed for Iowa. The former senator and secretary of state announced her Democratic presidential bid Sunday and will appear at her first event in eastern Iowa on Tuesday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Secretary of State John Kerry will hold private meetings with members of the House on Monday and senators on Tuesday to explain why he wants opponents of an Iran nuclear deal to "hold their fire" until they see a final agreement. Kerry tells CBS the Obama administration should be free to negotiate without interference until the June 30 deadline.

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee police say the driver of a car that struck and killed a 2-year-old who ran into the street was shot to death at the scene of the accident on Sunday afternoon. A teenager who was not in the car was also fatally shot. Police say the 41-year-old driver had remained at the scene. Then he and the 15-year-old boy were shot. No suspects are in custody.

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) —The Rev. Al Sharpton is praising the white mayor and police chief of North Charleston, South Carolina, for their swift action following the fatal shooting of a black man by a white police officer and says it could set the tone for handling future questions of police misconduct across the country. The officer was fired and charged with murder.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The emotional teen drama "The Fault in Our Stars" has been named best movie of the year at the MTV Movie Awards. Shailene Woodley picked up the award for best female performance in "The Fault in Our Stars." Another big winner on Sunday night was Bradley Cooper. He won best male performance for portraying the late Chris Kyle in "American Sniper."
