CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A Nevada Assembly committee has advanced two bills requiring voters to show identification to cast a ballot. The Assembly Legislative Operations and Elections Committee voted to send the bills to a money committee for financial review, but without a recommendation to pass it. The measures would require voters to show a government-issued identification card, such as a driver's license, or an identification card specifically created for the purpose of voting.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada lawmakers are reviewing a bill requiring more online sellers to collect and pay sales taxes. The bill seeks to require Internet sellers outside the state to collect sales taxes if they complete a certain amount of sales inside Nevada or solicit sales through the Internet.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — A bill aimed at helping lower-income students afford private schools has passed a Nevada Senate committee vote. The measure would allow businesses credit toward their modified business tax bill if they donate to a qualifying scholarship organization. NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) — Police say they found a dead child inside a North Las Vegas home while investigating abuse of a 4-month-old infant. North Las Vegas police say they arrested a 17-year-old girl for child abuse after investigators visited a Las Vegas hospital where the infant was in critical condition. The girl's name has not been released because she is a juvenile. Police aren't saying how the girl is related to the injured infant and dead child.
