This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.
Recent studies have painted a concerning picture of the American working world: longer days, less vacation and later retirement. This busyness has resulted in a decreased focus on self-care, which shows in increasing health challenges. This is one reason Sandra Urie opened Anew Medical Spa in Layton, located at 1992 W. Antelope Drive.
Sandra's vision for Anew Medical Spa is to provide a way to help her clients feel good about themselves and make positive changes. This allows anyone to build new levels of confidence and self esteem. Her husband, Dr. Bradley Urie serves as the house physician and they share an office space.
Anew Medical Spa is one of a handful of medical spas within the state that offers the newly FDA approved UltraShape. This is a focused ultrasound procedure which breaks fat cells down and sends them out through the body's lymph system. And the ultrasound can distinguish between nerves and cells, so the only thing it attacks is fat cells.
In the competitive medical spa industry, Sandra says the UltraShape is a major difference maker because only a handful of spas in the state offer the service. It's approved for use on a few areas of the body with more expected this spring. It can help a customer lose several inches in just a few treatments, and it can make a big difference especially for those who work out regularly but can't seem to get rid of problem areas. Sandra herself is a fan of the treatment and has experienced its effectiveness.
Prior to opening Anew Medical Spa, Sandra spent years in the medical industry. She was a CNA and worked in hospitals and medical centers along the Wasatch Front. She saw firsthand what happens when people don't take care of their health and wanted to do something about it. That's what inspired her to start Anew Medical Spa earlier this year.
