UNITED NATIONS (AP) — The U.N. special envoy for Yemen is issuing a warning to the international community. He says the conflict between the Sunni-backed president and Shiite rebels is pushing the Arab country "to the edge of civil war" Jamal Benomar says that if Yemen is nudged in either direction there'll be "a protracted conflict in the vein of an Iraq, Syria, Libya combined scenario."

WASHINGTON (AP) — The CIA director says the leader of the Iranian Quds (kuhdz) Force is making the U.S. mission in Iraq more complicated. John Brennan tells Fox News that Gen. Qassem Soleimani (kah-SEM' soh-lay-MAH'-nee), has been "very aggressive and active" in "further destabilizing the situation." Soleimani has been advising Shiite militias in their fight against Islamic State militants.

BEIRUT (AP) — Activists say Syrian insurgents have captured several government airmen after their helicopter crashed in a rebel-held area of northwestern Syria. The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights says the aircraft experienced a technical malfunction and made an emergency crash-landing in Idlib province on Sunday.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Leaders of the House Oversight Committee are asking Secret Service Director Joseph Clancy to let four agency employees who witnessed a March 4 incident outside the White House testify at a hearing Tuesday. The committee is trying to get to the bottom of allegations that two senior agents had been drinking when they drove into the secure area.

NEW YORK (AP) — The bodies of seven children who died in a New York City house fire are on their way to Israel to be buried. The Orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn turned out today for their funerals. The siblings, three girls and four boys aged 5 to 16, were killed early Saturday when their home was engulfed in flames. The fire is believed to have been started by a hot plate.
