Whatever the outcome of this week's American Idol finale, Utahns have to be proud of what young David Archuleta has accomplished this season on the hit TV show.
His story is quite remarkable.
Just a few months ago, a relatively obscure 17-year-old student at Murray High School - a regular guy albeit with an extraordinary talent - suddenly thrust into the national limelight and known to millions! Instant stardom has become his lot.
With natural shyness, he seems genuinely overwhelmed by the attention he is getting for doing something that he obviously loves. His appealing voice and humble personality have certainly endeared him to those adoring fans from all over the country who cast votes for him each week. At the same time, KSL hopes that gee-whiz bashfulness and obvious gratitude for the opportunity he's been given don't become diminished by the choruses of adulation directed his way.
Regardless of the outcome of this week's voting - whether he wins or is the runner-up - David Archuleta's star most likely will continue to shine. KSL appreciates the way he has represented his hometown of Murray and the state of Utah. And we wish him the best as his career undoubtedly begins to soar.
