PUNA, Hawaii (AP) — The hot lava flowing from Hawaii's active volcano is quickening its creep toward a sparsely populated neighborhood. Authorities say the lava has flowed about 200 yards since Saturday. But they say residents on the Big Island don't have to evacuate but should prepare to do so. They say there's no immediate threat. The nearest homes are about a mile away.
CHICAGO (AP) — Accomplished Chicago theater actress Molly Glynn, who also played a recurring role as a doctor on the TV series "Chicago Fire," has died after a tree fell and struck her during a storm. She was 46. The executive director of First Folio Theatre and a family friend say Glynn was riding her bicycle with her husband in a forest park north of Chicago on Friday when it happened.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — The Los Angeles County Coroner's Department says the girl group singer Simone Battle committed suicide by hanging. The ruling today comes two days after the 25-year-old singer was found dead in her West Hollywood home. Battle performed on the TV show "X Factor." Her five-member band G.R.L. had been signed by mega-hit maker Dr. Luke.
