SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah (AP) — Police are investigating after a man was found shot dead in a vehicle in South Salt Lake. Police say a "flood of calls" about a shooting came in around 8 last night. The man was found dead inside the vehicle in a lane near 200 East and Helm Avenue. Police say two groups of people fled the area after the shooting. The victim is described as a man in his 30s or 40s.

PAGE, Ariz. (AP) — The body of a 41-year-old woman who disappeared last weekend has been recovered from Lake Powell. Spokeswoman Denise Shultz of the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area says the body was taken from the water near Lone Rock Beach yesterday. Shultz says the woman was from New Mexico.

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) — Wildlife advocates want a federal judge to force the government to move more quickly on a recovery plan for imperiled Canada lynx. The U.S. government declared the snow-loving cats a threatened species across the Lower 48 states in 2000. But officials haven't come up with a mandated recovery plan. The lynx's 14-state range includes portions the Rocky Mountains.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah's primary election today may leave even political junkies wanting, with only a handful of races to be decided. Many of the state's intra-party battles were settled at party nominating conventions in May, including the races for Utah's four congressional seats — the state's biggest races this year.
