Suicide bombing in Nigeria...Special forces nab Benghazi suspect...Sectarian reprisals in Iraq

DAMATURU, Nigeria (AP) — Witnesses say a suicide bomber in a tricycle taxi has set off an explosion at a World Cup viewing center in northeast Nigeria. Several people are said to have been killed, though there's no word on exactly how many. Workers at the main hospital in the capital of Yobe (YOH'-bay) state say casualties are still coming in and at least 15 are critically wounded. The Islamic extremist group Boko Haram has targeted such viewing centers and sports bars in recent weeks, killing at least 40 people in two attacks.

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. officials say a man believed to be a key leader of the deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic outpost in Benghazi, Libya, is being held on a USS Navy ship in the Mediterranean Sea tonight. The Obama administration says U.S. special forces seized Ahmed Abu Khattala on Sunday. He will be brought to the U.S. to face what President Barack Obama says will be "the full weight of the American justice system."

BAGHDAD (AP) — Ominous signs of open sectarian warfare are emerging in Iraq. Nearly four dozen Sunni detainees were gunned down at a jail north of Baghdad today. There are conflicting reports of what happened, but police there say the detainees were gunned by pro-government Shiite militiamen after Sunni insurgents tried to storm the jail. Meanwhile, a car bomb struck a Shiite neighborhood of the capital and four young Sunnis were found slain in the city.

PHOENIX (AP) — Newly released records show bonuses were paid to workers at the Phoenix VA Health Care System where investigators say veterans' health was jeopardized by a cover up of long waiting times for patients. The Arizona Republic reports that documents show more than 2,100 employees received $10 million in bonuses from 2011 through last year.

LUBBOCK, Texas (AP) — The artist who partially buried a row of 10 graffiti-splattered Cadillacs along Interstate 40 west of Amarillo, Texas, has died. Stanley March 3 was the heir to an oil-and-gas fortune, a successful banker and television executive. But it was "Cadillac Ranch" and his other art projects that gained the eccentric businessman fame. His attorney says Marsh died in Amarillo today. He was 76.
