LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police now say that an officer, not Amanda Miller, fatally shot her husband Jerad Miller, as the two were cornered in a Las Vegas Wal-Mart. Department officials released dramatic store security video of the last seconds before Amanda and Jerad Miller died. The deaths have been ruled a murder and a suicide. The couple killed three people, including two officers.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — Fire officials and a witness say a drum of fuel left too close to a bonfire exploded in the desert in southern Nevada, injuring seven young people who gathered to celebrate their high school graduation. The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports the explosion late Monday night outside Henderson injured students from Basic High.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — A police officer shot and killed a man in a shootout in a Henderson neighborhood early today. The officer was also shot, but police said his injury wasn't life-threatening. A police spokeswoman says the assailant opened fire on officers responding to reports of gunfire. Police are investigating what prompted the shooting.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The Western Governors' Association has selected Nevada Republican Gov. Brian Sandoval as its new chairman. His fellow governors unanimously selected Sandoval today, the last day of a three-day annual conference in Colorado Springs. Oregon Democratic Gov. John Kitzhaber will be co-chair of the group.
