The government says more than 57,000 U.S. military veterans have been waiting 90 days or more for their first VA medical appointments. An additional 64,000 apparently never got appointments after enrolling.

A felony complaint says 41-year-old Nolan Perez is charged with seven felony counts, including stalking and criminal threats against a woman believed to be his ex-girlfriend.
ZEBULON, N.C. (AP) — A North Carolina man has been charged with human trafficking. Police say he was holding a German woman against her will in a secret room at a suburban Raleigh warehouse.
SAO PAULO (AP) — In Sao Paulo, Brazil, leaders of striking subway workers have announced the union is suspending a work stoppage for two days. The strike has thrown traffic into chaos before the city hosts the World Cup's opening game this week.
