COLLBRAN, Colo. (AP) — Rescue teams continue to search for three men reported missing after a ridge collapsed following heavy rain in a remote part of western Colorado. A cousin of one of the men says the three were checking for problems after a rancher reported that his irrigation ditch had stopped flowing. Bill Clark says the canyon now appears to be filled with about 700 feet of mud.
UNDATED (AP) — Firefighters in Alaska and Arizona are battling big wildfires. The one in Arizona has been burning since Tuesday between Sedona and Flagstaff. It's burned about 25 square miles, and crews had it 25 percent contained as of this morning. The fire in Alaska has burned nearly 248 square miles in the Kenai (KEEN'-eye) National Wildlife Refuge. Evacuation orders have been issued for 1,000 homes and other buildings about 60 miles south of Anchorage.
BERLIN (AP) — The European Union's energy commissioner says a tentative deal has been reached for Ukraine's gas company to pay $2 billion to Russia's Gazprom to end a dispute over Ukraine's gas debts. He says the Russian and Ukrainian energy ministers have until Wednesday evening to consult with their political leaders and gas companies. The deal would prevent a cutoff of Russian supplies, which flow to the EU through Ukraine.
NEW YORK (AP) — Federal prosecutors in New York say an admitted computer hacker has helped the FBI thwart hundreds of cyberattacks on government and corporate computer systems. The prosecutors also credit Hector Xavier Monsegur (HAH'-vee-ehr MAHN'-see-gur) with helping cripple the group of so-called hacktivists known as Anonymous. They're asking a judge to reward him with a light sentence tomorrow.
LOS ANGELES (AP) — "X-Men: Days of Future Past" is top movie this weekend, knocking "Godzilla" down to No. 2. Studios estimates show the latest "X-Men" flick earning $111 million, making it one of the top five highest Memorial Day weekend debuts. The Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore-led comedy "Blended" held the third place spot in its debut, followed by "Neighbors" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2."
