This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Kirk Chugg of Haberdasher Enterprises had a thought....After the crash of 2008, he lost his passion for financial planning...So, on a slow Thursday afternoon, he walked across the street to a suit shop on Washington Boulevard.... The suit store owner was overwhelmed..... So, Kirk made a deal with him — he'd help grow the business and show him how to make it more successful. The owner agreed.

Kirk accomplished this by paying attention to detail, sending handwritten thank you notes and remembering people's names.... he also noticed families, especially the men, hanging around for up to six hours while their wives shopped with their sons … So, Kirk built a man cave for dad, complete with cold drinks and a TV.... So with these changes and improvements, they developed a strong presence in the community where Kirk represented them.

This wasn't Kirk's end game, however. So, he started Haberdasher Enterprises because of his own market research on suit creation and sales. He brought in people with business acumen and located the market for high-end suits ...

He developed a business model where he comes to your office, knows your personal style and offers a choice from hundreds of fabrics. This service is unmatched, because you work with one person from start to fit and finish. He likes to tell people he makes friends for a living … and some of them buy clothes from him.

It's been only a year since Kirk launched the business, but he says it's going really well. It's growing organically, and just a few weeks ago a corporate executive was wearing a suit Kirk designed for him at a major event. He's so excited to find out folks asked the exec, "That's got to be a Haberdasher."

Kirk knows how to pay attention to detail, and swears that by improving your image, you can focus on what you do best, whether you're an SEO company or head of a corporate networking group. He serves clients from Logan all the way to St. George.
