WASHINGTON (AP) -- The group that offers shoppers comparisons of refrigerators, cars and other products will soon offer evaluations of some prescription drugs.
Consumer Reports says its Best Buy Drugs Web site will be launched December ninth and will be free.
It will compare the effectiveness and cost of a few types of widely used prescriptions.
Some states already get such drug-by-drug comparisons so their Medicare managers can make decisions on what prescription drugs to cover.
