This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Think of some of the most famous tunes you know. What part of the song immediately comes to mind?

Most likely it's a musical phrase called a riff. That's usually the part of the song you hear over and over again. Larry Hart decided to tap into this idea when naming his new business, Riffs Acoustic Music in Park City. He wanted his company to be connected to the kind of music that stays in your mind.

He was born and raised in California in the 60s. He has a love for surfing, the ocean and guitar music to the likes of Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Doc Watson, to name a few.

So, after 35 years in the insurance business and raising three sons, he decided the time was right to do something he's dreamed about for a long time. . . open a guitar shop.

Riffs Acoustic Music is a guitar shop unlike any around. In the 2,400 square foot Park City shop you'll find a retail space with guitars at all price levels. This includes some of the highest quality guitars available.

There's also a café with free WiFi, and you might recognize the barista. He's Dana Williams, the Park City mayor. You'll also find four beautiful soundproof lesson rooms and a performance center. Larry feels it's best to help his students get comfortable on the stage so he's providing space to help them do so.

Larry's dream is to open a music venue where people can gather and hang out in a well-thought-out youth program. It would include lessons based on the fundamentals where students could learn to create and to perform in the Riffs Acoustic Music performance center. This could also teach them important life skills.

He also offers a selection of songs just for the kids and recitals with their instructors. Just to show you what a visionary Larry is, he has even thought about the lessons including different color picks as the student advances like karate: white, blue, green and red.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
