(KSL News) -- Over 140-thousand battery operated toy cars are being recalled.

The child-size cars were sold between January 2004 and August 2005 for about $300. The cars made by "Safety First" and Kid Trax" have faulty circiut boards or batteries.

So far the companies report dozens cases of overheating and melting, but no injuries.

Owners of these toy cars should stop using them and contact the manufacturer for a free repair.
