MARLBORO, Vt. (AP) — The new president of Marlboro College says he is dedicated to building it as an engaged, international, and well-resourced community.
The Brattleboro Reformer reports (http://bit.ly/1iIIC0j ) Kevin Quigley spoke Sunday during an inauguration ceremony saying he hopes to instill the value of lifelong service into Marlboro College. Quigley said service usually pays in unexpected awards, such as lifelong friendships, life skills, greater clarity about life's purpose and an affirmation about humanity.
Quigley served as the Peace Corps' country director in Thailand and as president and CEO of the corps' global alumni organization. He becomes the school's ninth president, succeeding Ellen McCulloch-Lovell, who stepped down in June.
Quigley has degrees from Swarthmore College, the National University of Ireland, Columbia University, and Georgetown University.
