(KSL News) A motorist crashed into a police car, causing a chain reaction wreck.

Motorist Rear-Ends Police Car

Two police cars were on the side of 90th South near 2nd West in Sandy, when a man rear-ended one of the police cars with his vehicle. That police car slammed into the second one.

The suspect says he was looking in his rear-view mirror while changing lanes and didn't see the cars.

Lt. Mitch Howard, Sandy Police Dept.: "We just ask the public that when they do see those emergency lights that they take the proper precautions to go around us and keep us safe."

Luckily, no one was hurt. The driver was going the speed limit, about 40 miles per hour.
