(KSL News) -- A South Ogden woman was honored today for her work as a foster mother.
The northern region of Utah's Division of Child and Family Services honored Sandy Parker with its "Celebration of Hope" award. Child services employees say Parker was a foster mother to a baby boy 12 years ago, and continued to be a part of his life since the time he returned to his mother's custody.
Parker says she keeps in touch with most of her foster children.
Sandy Parker, Award Recipient: "They will never leave my life, because I consider them grandchildren. That has always been the relationship we've had and they call me grandma Sandy."
Parker says when she was a little girl, she told her parents she wanted to grow up to be a grandmother.
