KSL Newsradio's Greg Neft reportingHoliday travel season is fast approaching, but if you're heading somewhere far away for yoru turkey and stuffing, how much will you have to pay?

When you fly somewhere on Thanksgiving, you can expect long lines and packed planes, but now travel exper Larry Gelwix says you can expect to pay more, too.

"What the airlines are doing is reducing the number of seats, increasing the fares," Gelwix said.

Gelwix said you can save money if you're flying on Thanksgiving, but there's a catch.

"Forget about traveling on Sunday after Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year," said Gelwix. "But look for traveling on Thanksgiving, and coming back either on the Friday or Saturday."

If you already know you're going to fly this holiday season, Gelwix said book as early as you can.
