(KSL News) An arrest in Utah may be the nation's first under the new Adam Walsh Child Protection Safety Act.

John Henry Gill, a 47-year-old registered sex offender from Idaho, was charged for failing to register after moving to Utah.

The act became law when President Bush signed it, with John Walsh at his side.

It's a violation of federal law if a sex offender moves and fails to register his new address.
