(KSL News) -- State officials leading the charge against homelessness say rural communities need to be as involved as those in the urban areas.

Currently the state is implementing a 10-year plan to end chronic homelessness. However, according to of Department of Community and Culture Director Palmer DePaulis, fewer than ten of the regional homeless committees have launched programs to combat the problem.

He says unless that happens, the 10-year goal will not be met.
