(KSL News) -- Residents being forced to move from their mobile homes may not have to leave as soon as they think.
A developer planning to build luxury homes in place of the mobile home park will have to reevaluate his plans. A planning commission has denied his request to rezone.
John Gust wanted to build million-dollar homes in Cottonwood Heights where the Meadow Mobile Home Park currently exists. Currently the land only allows one home per acre, but Gust requested a higher density of up to two homes per acre.
The city council will consider the rezoning later this month. If allowed, almost 300 people, mainly single parents and the elderly, would be forced to move.
