Jed Boal ReportingPark City Mountain Resort is using a new marketing technique to reach snowboarders. A lot of young riders may not respond to traditional advertisements, so for the first time ever, a snowboard DVD, shot at Park City, will be inserted into about 200-thousand snowboard magazines.

Torino's Gold Medal Snowboarder, Shaun White, says it started with a call from long time friend, Jim Mangan, who designs the Park City's Snowboard pipe and terrain parks.

Shaun White, Gold Medal Snowboarder: "So Jim give me a call. He says, 'We're going James Bond theme. We are going to have you and the mountain, the Russian girl.' And I'm like, Jim, it sounds a little crazy."

Park City has long sponsored up and coming riders and formed an impressive team, called the Park City Allstars. Shaun White -- nicknamed the Flying Tomato -- just signed a five year contract with the resort.

Shaun White, Gold Medal Snowboarder: "I dig the mountain so much, I ended up purchasing two condos up here. And so I can see the half pipe from my place and know if Jim is really cutting it or not. You're not cutting it, I see you Jim."

It's the first film for producer Jim Mangan, who says he wanted to showcase riders and the pipe and terrain parks he and his crews build and maintain.

Jim Mangan, "City. Park City", Producer: "We have such a phenomenal team and we want to take advantage of those guys being here and the fact that they really do embrace Park City Mountain Resort."

Ski Resort Using DVD to Market to Young Audience

The DVD will be distributed in the December issue of "Future Snowboarding" magazine, which hits the newsstands November 7th.

The filmmaker, Jim Mangan, has also helped develop the resort's terrain parks. Faor the third year in a row, Park City Mountain Resort has been voted "Terrain Park of the Year" by magazine readers.
