FARMINGTON, Utah (AP) -- A registered sex offender accused in the death of a 16-year-old Bountiful girl last summer is headed to trial.

Yesterday, 39-year-old Walter Andrew White of Wood Cross waived his right to a preliminary hearing. He's charged with six felony counts, including second-degree child abuse homicide.

White is accused of providing anti-depressant pills to Samantha Mikesell --- who later died from taking a lethal dose. Court documents say White gave the girl the pills, so she could carry out her plan to commit suicide.

White's attorney say a possible plea deal may be in the works. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for October 12th.
