(KSL News) -- Utah State University honored eight students and an instructor who died one year ago in a van accident. The school held a memorial today for all of the victims, survivors and their families.

It began with a tractor processional.

Tiffany Evans, Utah State University: "These tractors symbolize what these young men loved and what they enjoyed doing."

Robbie Peterson, one of two survivors, says he'll honor those who died by remembering the past and looking toward the future.

Robbie Peterson, Survivor: "Start a family, and start living a life that these guys stood for."

The students and their instructor died when a tire blew on their van on I-84 near Tremonton. The van rolled down an embankment and all 11 people inside were ejected.
