Greg Neft reporting A family moving to West Jordan from Austin, Texas gets a very unpleasant surprise as their rental truck, with all their household belongings, is stolen. The truck is back, their possessions are not.

It happened Friday night in Sandy at the Extended Stay America Motel off Auto Park Drive.

"Everything. Our whole life is gone," said Magdelany Dunbar.

Then police told Dunbar and her family they found the truck, but it wasn't all good news.

"We jumped with joy, we thought everything was intact," she said. "But when we got there, the truck was empty."

Now the family has to buy all new stuff, but Magdelany insists they are not victims

"I think there are other people out there who need more help than us," she said.

She does say if you see anything that looks stolen give the police a call.
