MURRAY, Utah (AP) -- A former smelter site in Murray is getting national recognition.

The city is getting praise for revitalizing the smelter site, which runs from about 5000 South to 5300 South near State Street.

And for its efforts, Murray will receive the 2006 Phoenix Award. The awards are given to individuals or groups working on projects to revitalize blighted and contaminated areas.

The old smelter site will soon be the future home of the Intermountain Medical Center, and house several office complexes.

The city will be presented with the award at a conference in Boston in November.
