Gene Kennedy reportingTwo people are in jail for allegedly running a mobile meth lab in Brigham City.
Police say they caught the suspects thanks to some observant and well-trained grocery store workers.
The Box Elder County Sheriff's Office says the semi driver and his passenger walked into a grocery store and bought ephedrine and matches; a red flag for meth-making.
Investigators say the suspects tried to do the same thing at another grocery store in Brigham City. But employees put it together, called police, and officers tracked the suspects down last night in a residential area.
Investigators say they found meth in the semi's tractor plus pots and pans used to cook it. HAZMAT had to be called in to decontaminate the officers and suspects involved in the bust.
Deputies arrested the driver Randy Dow and his passenger Linda Parr. Detectives say Dow was transporting onions and cooking meth on the side. He also has a fugitive warrant out of New Jersey.
Both suspects have been charged with possession and intent to distribute meth and possession of drug paraphenelia.
Investigators have those grocery store workers to thank. They're trained to spot anyone buying over the counter items that can be used to make meth.
