(KSL News) -- Expired plates led to a police chase in Clearfield. It happened this morning near Wasatch Elementary School.

Police say the suspects had expired registration and wouldn't pull over.

Investigators say the two men in the car were Joel Espinoza and Pedro Balli, a parole violator. Police say the two tossed a handgun out the window and a gatorade bottle, possibly filled with drugs.

They then lost control of their car in a field near the elementary school.

Both are in Davis County Jail tonight.
