GREEN RIVER, Utah (AP) -- The Utah Highway Patrol says four passengers believed to be illegal immigrants were killed in a one-vehicle accident in eastern Utah near the Colorado border.

Patrol sergeant Todd Royce said there were 11 people in the eastbound vehicle when it crashed yesterday morning on Interstate 70 about 15 miles east of Green River. The driver was among those killed, and may have fallen asleep.

None of the victims was identified. Some were hospitalized in Grand Junction, including one in critical condition.

Immigration officials were investigating the accident.
