ROY (AP) -- Police say they've found evidence of a fire accelerant at the scene of an apartment blaze that left residents homeless.

Chief Greg Whinham says the material was in a common hallway on the third floor of the building. Investigators are now investigating the June 30th fire as arson.

Whinham says state fire investigators are analyzing the substance found to learn more about how the fire began.

Residents of six apartments were displaced by the fire, which caused more than 300-thousand dollars in damages.
