Amanda Butterfield and Randall Jeppesen ReportingA mother and son from Utah County are getting ready to head to the World Cup Final in Germany, and they're not going just to watch the game.

It was over a year ago the mom entered a contest to win a trip to the World Cup final. Well they won, and no one can believe it.

Nine-year old Mateo is one lucky kid.

John Tabares, Father: "He is just a good, nice, very, very lucky boy."

And Mateo knows what everyone is saying about him.

Mateo: "That I'm so lucky."

It's all because he's going to Germany.

Mateo: "I won the trip to the World Cup. I leave tomorrow. I need to be at the airport at 6:00 am."

Eight months ago, Mateo's mom entered the two into a contest.

Monica Ariza, Mother: "I receive a call last April; they said, ‘You won,' and I said, ‘What,' and they said a trip for Germany."

For the next four days, the two will be treated like VIPS in Berlin.

Mateo: "I get to go to the zoo, restaurant, three star hotel, and play a game with other people that won the contest."

Mother: "Every hour we have something to do."

And it's all paid for.

Monica, Mother: "They pay for everything, they also gave me money."

But perhaps the best part is that Mateo will get to escort one of the players.

Mateo: "Like holding hands with somebody onto the field, in front of millions of people. I'm just so excited!"

You can watch Mateo escort a player on the field this Sunday at 1:00. No word on which player he'll be walking with, but he wants it to be Zinadane Zidon.
