CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) -- A complex of wildfires had increased to more than 15,000 acres on Friday and was threatening a small community in Washington County.

There were no evacuations ordered for the tiny community of Motoqua, just east of the Nevada line, but the fires that make up the Bull complex were close enough to be considered a threat, said Julian Rhinehart, a spokesman for the Interagency Fire Center in Cedar City.

An outbuilding and utility trailer burned in the fires, which were estimated at 15,500 total acres Friday afternoon, Rhinehart said. The fires were started Wednesday by lightning.

Fire crews still expected to have two much larger wildfires contained Saturday. The Jarvis fire, which has burned 50,700 acres, was 95 percent contained.

The Kolob fire was 85 percent contained and had burned 17,750 acres, including 10,500 in Zion National Park.

Rhinehart said all roads in the park had reopened by Friday afternoon.
