Ashley Hayes reportingFirecrews battled a huge fire at a warehouse under construction in West Jordan.

Capt. Gary Cox, West Jordan Police Dept. : "The fire is covering a 200 feet by 200 feet across roof."

2-Alarm Fire Damages Warehouse in West Jordan

Kraftmaid Cabinetry manufacturing plant, located at 10026 South and 6220 West, caught fire around 10 am Friday. Crews brought the fire under control, but continued to douse the roof. Forty firefighters with four fire units responded to the scene.

Capt. Gary Cox, West Jordan Police Dept. : "There were people who were working on the facility. This started out small, but it spread very quickly. They tried to knock it down with fire extinguishers at the beginning, but it picked up really quick, and they were not able to control it."

There were 200 workers inside the building at the time. Everyone was evacuated safely.

Firefighters say the fire started on the roof, with 4x8 pieces of Styrofoam insulation catching fire.

The facility is under construction, and is set to open sometime next year.
